Yahoo to challenge Google AdSense

June 26th, 2005: Yahoo is launching a pilot program together with
Revenue Science of its own cost-per-click text ad, based on user behavior.
This new effort obviously seems to represent a threat to Google's AdSense,
since both companies are fighting a long battle over the leadership in
search-based advertisement.


Its functioning will be probably very similar to the AdSense system,
where a page is scanned and is an adequate ad box placed matching the
page content. The beta version of the system is already working in a small
network, and the results are "very promising" as a Yahoo spokesman
said.
